Inkpots offers young people a warm, welcoming creative community where they can relax, make friends and express themselves. Our programmes are designed to nurture self expression and expand horizons, as well as being fun and a break from school and exam pressures.
Young people can be part of Inkpots in these ways:
*We have online groups meeting on Tuesdays (13 – 15 year olds) and Thursdays for 10 – 12 year olds. The groups run during school term times, and it’s here that we regularly discuss writing projects, and work on creative story development and wellbeing activities. At least twice a term (usually more) we invite authors, illustrators, cartoonists and other creative practitioners to visit and share their creative stories with the young people.
*1:1 sessions are delivered by Gill via Zoom and offer a young person the chance to develop their creative writing projects, receiving feedback on story form, character development and plot management. The sessions can also be used as mentoring sessions where we use creative ideas to help support a young person through a challenging time.
*Transition from primary to secondary school is a crucial step for all young people. At Inkpots, we have the skills and experience to support this step. We will share our activity dates as we get nearer to the time of the move.
*Throughout the year, we run seasonal programmes too. We share information here but please also contact Gill for news of her plans, or sign up to our monthly newsletter to get all the latest information.
*We also run creative writing activities during school holidays. Please Gill for the latest session details.
