Many of the people I work with are part of the education system, or are creatives and run small businesses. Many are parents too. What many have in common is a cycle of burnout – or feeling that they are on the edge of this all the time.
The holidays may be a time to reboot but many find themselves fading as the school term goes on. They stagger to the end of that term and the whole cycle starts again.
Having worked in and around schools for the past 15 years, I know the stresses and strains only too well. My own observation is that it seems worse since the lockdowns for COVID. I know too, how hard it is to break this cycle and make changes on your own.
Reflect Review Renew is a specially-designed approach which offers adults a chance to unload and reflect in a completely safe space. This is something we talk about for students and it’s my belief that adults need the same security too.
Each session lasts for one and a half hours and we meet online at a mutually suitable time. In those 90 minutes, we will:
Reflect: we’ll look back over the past few months or term and go through the various events. All the ups and downs. The highlights and the lowlights – we’ll get everything out on the table.
Review: this part of the process puts things in to some kind of perspective. Despite the inevitable challenges, there will have been some triumphs and we should celebrate those. We are very quick to see where and why things go wrong – much less likely to pinpoint why things go well. And what should be repeated.
Renew: together we’ll dive into what you’d like to take forward and where you’d like to be. Uncover some dreams maybe? We’ll set some goals and see what changes you could make that are achievable and realistic. We’ll aim for an all-round happier and healthier time for you.
Reflect Review Renew is available at certain points of the year when I know I have the right amount of time and capacity. The next time doors and open is September 2024 so please do get in touch to find out more now. My email is gill@inkpots.org
