We are very proud to be collaborating with the Burgess Hill Academy to run drop-in sessions on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes for students in Years 7, 8 and 9.
The Monday group is for students in Years 8 and 9, with the new Wednesday session especially for the new Year 7s.
We discuss books, authors, story ideas and competitions. They work on their own creative projects as well as group work. This is also a space where we can talk about any worries or issues around school life, studying, exam pressures or growing up.
Inkpots at Burgess Hill Academy will be running during the autumn term from:
Monday 9 September 2019 – Monday 9 December 2019
Wednesday 11 September 2019 – Wednesday 11 December 2019
Each session costs £5 and can be paid on a pay-as-you-go basis. Please contact Gill to discuss further.
**New creative space**
We are currently working with the Academy to develop an area just off the library into a safe, creative space for students. Members of our groups are master-minding the transformation, which is well underway. We are very grateful to have received some donations of equipment but still need lots of items to make the space fabulous, including:
*Rugs, cushions and beanbags
*Pine table or pasting table
*Secondhand leather-effect settee and chairs
If you would be able to donate any of these items, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or the office at the Burgess Hill Academy.
