We are very lucky at Inkpots to get sent some gorgeous books to review – and Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball is no exception!
As well as reading it myself, I wanted to hear what one of our Inkpots thought of it and asked Alisha, who is 10, what she thought. I think we can safely say that she really enjoyed it – so much so that her grandmother emailed me to say:
“Alisha is loving the book. It’s been difficult to get her to stop reading so she can go to bed!”
I am not surprised that Alisha was engrossed – this is such a good book!
Amelia Fang is fun, feisty and friendly. She loves her pet pumpkin, Squashy, and loves spending time with her friends too. Oh, and she’s a vampire.
Amelia’s parents are hosting a Barbaric Ball and expect her to be on her best behaviour. But that’s before horrid Prince Tagine starts at Amelia’s school and everything starts to go wrong.
This book is beautifully illustrated by Laura too so we get a wonderful backdrop to a great adventure story that will make you keep turning the pages.
Thanks so much to Egmont Press for sending us this book to review.
