PrintInkpots Writers’ Hut

The Inkpots Writers’ Hut is for children in Years 6 and 7 of school. One of the aims is to give our older children a chance to get together to discuss books, writing and art. We also hope that it is a form of continuity for Year 6 children as they approach a time of change; it’s also a great way for us to keep in touch with Year 7 children when they move to secondary school.

The Inkpots Writers’ Hut meets on the first Saturday of each month from 2pm – 3.30pm in Cyprus Hall, Burgess Hill RH15 8DX.

We’ll be taking a look at the various components of a story, talking about each other’s work and playing word games and doing role play games too. (We’ll also be having cake…)

You should write because you love the shape of stories and sentences and the creation of different worlds on a page.
Writing comes from reading, and reading is the finest teacher of how to write.
